The Hellenic Branch of the International Law Association welcomed the ILA’s Regional Conference 2013 on Imperium Juris: Governance, Trade, Resources. The Conference was held at Cape Sounion, Athens, Greece on 29-31 August 2013.

The 2013 Regional Conference’s focus was on manifestations of the rule of law, with particular reference to Governance, Trade and Resources. These areas are at the heart of current developments on the global and regional scene, within a framework of international regulations, multiple actors, changing patterns of authority between and within States, emerging global needs leading to a renewed attention to human rights, resources and development. They are also of particular interest for this region, where new challenges and novel opportunities meet age-old rivalries and entrenched long-term practices.
